The Ellbogensee and the surrounding lakes are ideal for fishing trips – here you can catch eels, perch, roaches, tench, and with a bit of luck also pike, zander, or catfish.
Adults need a fishing license and a fishing permit.
Who is allowed to fish in Ellbogensee?
- Children under 14 years old are allowed to fish at Ellbogensee without adults. Fishing for predatory fish is not allowed.
- From 14 years old, a fishing license (a tourist fishing license is sufficient) and a fishing card are required.
- Additionally, all individuals over 14 years old who do not have their primary residence in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern must pay a fishing fee, regardless of any fees already paid in other federal states. The fee is valid for the calendar year and can be purchased at erlaubnis.angeln-mv.de or at the local authorities.
- Young people from 11 years old can apply for a youth fishing license for predatory fish with the consent of their legal guardians.
- Tourist fishing licenses for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are available at local tourist information centers (e.g. Fürstenberg, Wesenberg, Mirow) and are valid for 28 days.
